4 slices sourdough or Italian bread
4 tablespoons basil pesto
1 1/2 cups shredded low-moisture mozzarella cheese
2 tablespoons softened unsalted butter
2 tablespoons shredded Parmesan cheese optional
Pinch of black pepper optional
Spread softened butter on one side of each bread slice.
Turn slices over and spread pesto evenly on the unbuttered side of two slices.
