These burger dinner foil packets combine seasoned beef patties, tender potatoes, and veggies into a fun, easy-to-cook meal perfect for the oven, grill, or campfire.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20)

  • 1 tsp salt

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • ½ tsp garlic powder

  • ½ tsp onion powder

  • 2 cups Yukon Gold potatoes, diced

  • 1 bell pepper, sliced

  • 1 small onion, sliced

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 4 slices cheddar cheese

  • Optional: pickles, ketchup, mustard, bacon bits, jalapeños

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400°F or heat grill to medium-high.

  • Mix ground beef with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Form into 4 patties.

  • In a bowl, toss potatoes, onion, and bell pepper with oil, salt, and pepper.

  • Lay out 4 large sheets of foil. Divide potato mixture among them. Top with a beef patty.

  • Seal the foil packets tightly.

  • Bake or grill for 30–35 minutes (or cook over campfire for 25–30 minutes).

  • Open carefully, top with cheese, and let melt before serving.

Notes

  • Dice potatoes small for even cooking.

  • Use heavy-duty foil or double wrap.
