A creamy, cheesy one-skillet pasta made with beef, tomato, and tender cheese tortellini. Quick, hearty, and full of comfort.
1 lb ground beef
1 tbsp olive oil
1 small onion, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp tomato paste
1½ cups crushed tomatoes or tomato sauce
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp black pepper
1½ tsp Italian seasoning
½ cup heavy cream
20 oz cheese tortellini (fresh or frozen)
1 cup shredded mozzarella
¼ cup grated Parmesan
Fresh parsley or basil (for garnish)
Heat oil in a large skillet. Sauté onion for 4–5 minutes. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
Stir in tomato paste and cook for 1–2 minutes. Add crushed tomatoes, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Simmer 3–4 minutes.
Stir in tortellini and heavy cream. Cover and simmer on low for 5–7 minutes until tortellini is tender.
Stir in mozzarella until melted. Sprinkle with Parmesan.
Garnish with fresh herbs and serve hot.
Add spinach or zucchini for more vegetables.
Swap beef for turkey or sausage if preferred.
Broil cheese on top for a bubbly, browned finish.
