A creamy, cheesy one-skillet tortellini dinner with ground beef, tomato cream sauce, and melty mozzarella — perfect for cozy, family-friendly meals.
1 lb ground beef
1 small onion, diced
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 can (15 oz) crushed tomatoes or tomato sauce
½ cup heavy cream
1½ tsp Italian seasoning
18 oz refrigerated cheese tortellini
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
¼ cup grated parmesan cheese
1 tbsp olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste
Optional: Red pepper flakes, chopped basil or parsley
In a large skillet, heat olive oil. Brown ground beef 6–8 minutes. Drain excess fat.
Add diced onion and sauté 3–4 minutes. Stir in garlic and cook 30 seconds more.
Stir in crushed tomatoes, cream, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer 2–3 minutes.
Add tortellini. Cover and cook on medium-low for 5–7 minutes, stirring once or twice.
Stir in mozzarella and parmesan. Let cheese melt and sauce thicken, 2–3 minutes.
Garnish with fresh herbs and serve hot.
Use frozen tortellini with extra cook time.
Swap in sausage or turkey for beef.
Add spinach for a veggie boost.
