A creamy, cheesy one-skillet tortellini dinner with ground beef, tomato cream sauce, and melty mozzarella — perfect for cozy, family-friendly meals.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef

  • 1 small onion, diced

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 can (15 oz) crushed tomatoes or tomato sauce

  • ½ cup heavy cream

  • 1½ tsp Italian seasoning

  • 18 oz refrigerated cheese tortellini

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

  • ¼ cup grated parmesan cheese

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Optional: Red pepper flakes, chopped basil or parsley

Instructions

  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil. Brown ground beef 6–8 minutes. Drain excess fat.

  • Add diced onion and sauté 3–4 minutes. Stir in garlic and cook 30 seconds more.

  • Stir in crushed tomatoes, cream, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer 2–3 minutes.

  • Add tortellini. Cover and cook on medium-low for 5–7 minutes, stirring once or twice.

  • Stir in mozzarella and parmesan. Let cheese melt and sauce thicken, 2–3 minutes.

  • Garnish with fresh herbs and serve hot.

Notes

  • Use frozen tortellini with extra cook time.

  • Swap in sausage or turkey for beef.

  • Add spinach for a veggie boost.
