1 lb ground beef (80/20)
1/2 yellow onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
2 tbsp ketchup
1 tbsp yellow mustard
16 oz frozen French fries
2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1/4 cup sliced dill pickles (optional)
Optional toppings: shredded lettuce, diced tomato, crumbled bacon
Preheat oven to 425°F.
In a large, oven-safe skillet, brown ground beef over medium-high heat, about 6–8 minutes. Drain grease.
Add onion and cook for 3 minutes. Stir in garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
Mix in ketchup, mustard, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 2–3 minutes.
Spread frozen fries evenly over the beef—do not stir.
Bake for 20–25 minutes or until fries are crispy.
Sprinkle cheese on top and return to oven for 5–7 minutes until melted.
