A comforting baked pasta dish with tender chicken creamy basil pesto sauce and melted cheese.
12 ounces penne pasta
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 cups cooked chicken breast diced
3 cloves garlic minced
1 cup heavy cream
3/4 cup basil pesto
1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Salt to taste
Black pepper to taste
Fresh basil optional for garnish
Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and grease a baking dish.
Cook pasta until al dente drain and set aside.
Heat olive oil in a skillet and cook chicken until golden.
Add garlic and cook briefly.
Pour in heavy cream and simmer for 2 to 3 minutes.
Stir in pesto and season with salt and pepper.
Toss pasta with sauce and transfer to baking dish.
Top with mozzarella and Parmesan.
Bake for 18 to 22 minutes until cheese is melted and lightly golden.
Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
