A comforting baked pasta dish with tender chicken creamy basil pesto sauce and melted cheese.

Ingredients

12 ounces penne pasta
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 cups cooked chicken breast diced
3 cloves garlic minced
1 cup heavy cream
3/4 cup basil pesto
1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Salt to taste
Black pepper to taste
Fresh basil optional for garnish

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and grease a baking dish.

  • Cook pasta until al dente drain and set aside.

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet and cook chicken until golden.

  • Add garlic and cook briefly.

  • Pour in heavy cream and simmer for 2 to 3 minutes.

  • Stir in pesto and season with salt and pepper.

  • Toss pasta with sauce and transfer to baking dish.

  • Top with mozzarella and Parmesan.

  • Bake for 18 to 22 minutes until cheese is melted and lightly golden.

  • Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
