Ingredients

2 tablespoons butter
1 small onion
3 cloves garlic
2 tablespoons flour
1 1/2 cups milk
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup cheese
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F.
  • Slice potatoes thinly.
  • Cook onion and garlic in butter.
  • Stir in flour, then add milk and cream.
  • Layer potatoes and sauce in baking dish.
  • Cover and bake 45 minutes.
  • Uncover and bake 20–25 minutes until golden.
