2 pounds beef stew meat or chuck roast cut into bite-size cubes
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
6 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup beef broth
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 tablespoons chopped parsley
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
Brown beef cubes briefly on each side.
Transfer browned beef into slow cooker.
Sprinkle salt, pepper, paprika, and Italian seasoning over beef.
Add minced garlic across the meat.
Place sliced butter on top.
Pour beef broth and Worcestershire sauce into the slow cooker.
Cover and cook on LOW for 6–7 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours.
Stir once during cooking so sauce coats the beef evenly.
Sprinkle chopped parsley before serving.
Chuck roast usually produces very tender results during slow cooking.
Mushrooms or carrots can cook with the beef during the final portion of cooking.
