A crispy, buttery Italian garlic bread made with fresh garlic, herbs, and optional cheese. Perfect alongside pasta, soups, or grilled dishes.
1 loaf Italian or French bread
½ cup unsalted butter, softened
3–4 garlic cloves, minced
1 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
¼ tsp kosher salt
¼ tsp black pepper
Optional: ¼ cup grated Parmesan or ½ cup shredded mozzarella
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Mix butter, garlic, olive oil, salt, pepper, and parsley in a small bowl until smooth.
Slice bread in half lengthwise or into thick slices.
Spread garlic butter mixture evenly over each piece.
Sprinkle with cheese if desired.
Place on a baking sheet and bake for 10–12 minutes.
For extra crispiness, broil for 1–2 minutes, watching closely.
Slice and serve hot.
Use roasted garlic for a milder taste.
