Honey Garlic Chicken Skewers feature tender grilled chicken coated in a sticky honey garlic glaze. The skewers deliver a balance of sweet caramelization and savory garlic flavor, perfect for casual dinners or outdoor grilling.
1½ pounds boneless chicken thighs or chicken breast, cut into cubes
⅓ cup honey
3 tablespoons soy sauce
3 cloves garlic, finely minced
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon rice vinegar or lemon juice
1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger (optional)
½ teaspoon black pepper
2 tablespoons sliced green onions for garnish
1 tablespoon sesame seeds for garnish
Wooden or metal skewers
In a bowl whisk honey, soy sauce, garlic, olive oil, rice vinegar, ginger, and black pepper.
Place cubed chicken in a large bowl and coat with two-thirds of the marinade.
Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
Soak wooden skewers in water for 20 minutes if using wooden skewers.
Thread marinated chicken onto skewers with small gaps between pieces.
Preheat grill to medium-high heat and lightly oil the grates.
Grill skewers for 4 to 5 minutes per side.
Brush reserved marinade over chicken while grilling.
Continue turning until chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
Remove from grill and rest for 2 to 3 minutes before serving.
Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
