1 pound ground beef
3 cups cooked white rice
1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon sesame oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes, optional
2 green onions, thinly sliced
1 cup shredded carrots
1 tablespoon sesame seeds
Cook rice according to package directions and keep warm.
In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes if using.
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and cook ground beef until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
Drain excess grease if necessary.
Reduce heat to medium and pour sauce over beef. Stir and simmer for 3 to 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
Spoon rice into bowls and top with beef mixture.
