20 Oreo cookies
2 tablespoons melted butter (optional)
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup whipped topping
4 Oreo cookies, crushed for topping
Crush Oreo cookies into fine crumbs.
Mix crumbs with melted butter if using.
Press crumbs into bottom of dessert cups.
Beat cream cheese until smooth.
Add powdered sugar and vanilla and mix well.
Fold in whipped topping until fluffy.
Layer cheesecake mixture over cookie crumbs.
Add additional cookie crumbs and another layer of filling.
Sprinkle crushed Oreos on top.
Chill for at least 1 hour before serving.
Chilling helps the cheesecake filling firm slightly and improves the layered texture.
