A rich and cheesy one-skillet pasta dinner with all the flavors of a smash burger—juicy beef, tangy condiments, and plenty of melty cheese.

Ingredients

Scale

1 lb ground beef (80/20 recommended)
1 yellow onion, finely diced
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 cups short pasta (elbows, shells, rotini)
3 cups beef broth
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
2 oz cream cheese
2 cups shredded sharp cheddar
1 tbsp ketchup
1 tsp yellow mustard
1/4 cup chopped dill pickles (optional)

Instructions

  • In a large skillet, brown beef and onion over medium-high heat until fully cooked (6–8 minutes).

  • Stir in garlic, salt, and pepper. Cook for 1 minute.

  • Add dry pasta and broth. Stir well. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 10–12 minutes.

  • Once pasta is tender, reduce heat. Stir in cream cheese until melted.

  • Gradually add cheddar, stirring until smooth and creamy.

  • Mix in ketchup and mustard.

  • Stir in pickles or use as a topping if desired.

  • Serve hot.
